Crown and Bridge Fixed Restorations
These Restorations are very much like the crowns or "caps" that you would put on natural teeth. Implants are placed in positions that are as close as possible to the positions of the natural teeth and then we place 'abutments' which are metal shapes that are prepared like prepared teeth for crowns. It is important that the implants are placed at the correct angulation.
These restorations are difficult to produce and they are, by nature, very expensive. they are usually more difficult to clean than removable restorations, but they are much more 'tooth-like' and therefor generally feel more natural and act more like teeth than removable restorations...SRD |
