Periodontitis May Increase C-Reactive Protein Levels in Pregnancy PDF Print E-mail
Researchers found that pregnant women with periodontitis had 65 percent higher C-reactive protein (CRP) levels compared to periodontally healthy women. CRP has been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including preeclampsia and preterm delivery. (American Academy of Periodontology press release)
