Description

When implants are placed in a one-stage procedure and then attached to the teeth or teeth at the same time, they are referred to a "Immediate Load" implants. This concept is contrary to the original tenants of implant technique as outlined by Dr. Brånemark, but it can be acceptable under certain circumstances

 

Advantages

No waiting time for placing the restoration in function.

 

Disadvantages

Higher failure rates, especially in inexperienced hands.

 

Recommendations

Acceptable but only in the hands of expert practitioners.
