The top photograph shows the clasp partial denture in place and the obvious "roller coaster" effect of the plane of occlusion of the lower arch. The bottom picture shows the patient without the maxillary prosthesis. Although the anterior maxillary ridge appears normal, it is composed mainly of soft tissue.
