This is another example of a fixed-hybrid restoration where the labial flange has been extended gingivally to minimize the space discrepancy. Yes this is much more difficult to clean, but I have been monitoring this particular patient for almost five years now and every time I remove the prosthesis, the tissue looks great! However, I would still recommend leaving more room or (my first choice) an overdenture restoration.
