Locator Abutment

Pictured at the left is a locator abutment on a standard external hex implant. Note that the retention for this attachment is both internal and external.

The metal retentive cap which will be picked up in the Overdenture incorporates the plastic retentive element. Because of the design, there is little chance of locking onto the abutment when picking up the attachment.
