Comprehensive Reconstruction of Mandibular Jaw with Crowns & Bridge Restorations

A Long Distance Treatment Scenario

 Second Visit

Approximately 3 months after the implant placement, the patient returned to my office for the next stage of treatment. I uncovered the implants and placed solid abutments (Implants and abutments were both IMTEC products). I prepared the solid abutments and inserted the provisional restoration that was made from the original working model taken at the time of implant placement. The bicuspids were extracted, the provisionals relined and fitted to the abutments and then we took our final impressions for the final restorations.

The major amount of the work was now complete and the patient was no longer wearing a removable prosthesis. It took her about a day to get used to the feel of the provisional restorations and then she was very happy with the results.

The photos at the left show the prepared abutments and the provisional restorations. Note how nicely the implants and abutments are located in relation to the "teeth".
