One of the really neat things about this new MDL system is the pre-machined abutment that fits onto the implant head. This abutment can be prepared in or out of the mouth and then hard cemented onto the abutment. It could also be used as a transfer coping for indirect fabrication.

 

 

 

The abutment has been prepared to receive a crown and cemented onto the MDL implant. These abutments may be prepared in the mouth with copious irrigation or in the lab on a pin vise or a cast. An analog is available for indirect work.
