A thumb wrench is used for the majority of the insertion. If dense bone is encountered, we can switch to a ratchet wrench. this 2mm diameter implant is wider than most mini implants. The collar is flared to give additional strength to prevent fracture of the implant during insertion in very dense bone.

 

 

 

 

The MDL is now fully seated with the polished collar below the soft tissue. The square configuration will act as the seating element for the abutment. The ball attachment is used in overdenture situations.
