Maxillary Reconstruction with the

Replacement of a Failing Blade Implant

The blade came out fairly easily and the defect wasn't as big as some I've seen. I was able to place three implants: one in the position of the lateral incisor, one in the first bicuspid position and one in the area of the first molar. the implants used were Imtec threaded implants with external hex prosthetic connections. Freeze dried bone was added after implant placement to fill in some of the defects. when the implants were placed, the patient's physician placed her on IV antibiotics.
