Once the wax-up has been completed, an index of the tooth positions may be made to act as a guide to configuring the bar. All the pieces to construct the bar are included in the kit and while some of the pieces are plastic, others are metal. Note in the picture on the left, the metal lock is in place over the plastic bar to determine the proper position during the wax-up phase. The entire bar is waxed together providing the retentive area in the anterior section and the posterior locks. The posterior locks are set at a 30° angle using the special mandrel included in the kit.
