Splinting Dental Implants
Chewing and bruxism can place a great deal of stree on dental implants. Mandibular bone, because of its greater density and the ability to locate the implants in a more verticle axis allows us to restore a minimal amount of dental implants with non-splinting and an excellent long term result. Because of the decreased density of the maxillary bone and the usual labial inclination of maxillary anterior implants, the forces are usually directed right at the thin labial plate.
