Splinting Dental Implants

Here is the patient about five years into treatment. She had originally presented as a class III dentate patient with a failing maxillary dentition. The treatment plan was to extract most of the remaining maxillary teeth and make an immediate full overdenture. This was done and the esthetic result was fine but the patient had trouble with the palatal coverage. We discussed dental implants and I decided to place four implants. I went with individual attachments to bypass the remaining teeth. ERA attachments were used with some angulation correction.

Here is the internal surface of the maxillary overdenture. Four orange ERA attachments were used.

The radiograph at the 5 year mark.
