Thin Ridge Placement Drilling Sequence PDF Print E-mail

Placement of Dental Implants in a Thin Ridge of Bone

The drilling sequence utilizes a 2,2mm bur followed by a 2.85mm bur then a 3.15mm bur. Occasionally a 3.65mm bur is used in very dense bone.... This is a 3.15mm diameter drill which is easily accommodated in the thick ridge. When we use the same size drill on the thin ridge, it will remove some of the labial and possibly palatal bone.
