The x-ray below is called a panorex x-ray and it shows the complete upper and lower jaw of the patient. This patient has all of his teeth (32 counting the wisdom teeth) and they are very healthy, especially given his age of 55 years... The white areas are restorations, in this case, crowns and gold inlays. The darker areas above the molar teeth are the maxillary sinuses which are basically air sacks in the skull.
